Roggenart Baltimore is a European bakery and café on North Charles Street in Mount Vernon, Baltimore. We serve croissants, pastries and breads made from scratch and baked in small batches every day, along with breakfast, lunch and espresso seven days a week, from 7 AM.
Baltimore is where Roggenart began. Founder Neman Popov opened our first café here in 2017, moved it to Columbia in 2018, and in 2024 we came back to the city with this café in the City House Charles building. The name means "the art of rye" in German, a nod to the European baking traditions behind everything in our pastry case.
Mornings here start with a flaky croissant and a latte or cold brew. Regulars come back for the Almond Frangipane, the Crookie, our croissant and chocolate chip cookie in one, and the Roggenart Signature Sandwich. At lunch we make sandwiches to order, including a vegan Mediterranean sandwich, and fresh salads.
It's a place to slow down, the kind of café where people come to connect and reconnect. Students and remote workers settle in to study or work, neighbors meet over coffee, and travelers stop by before catching a train at Penn Station. Feeding the office? Order ahead online and we'll have it packed and ready when you arrive.
